TMJR Parametro
Temporomandibular Joint Prosthesis
Personalized Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) prosthesis using a fully digital workflow. The implant is manufactured using a hybrid manufacturing process (CNC milling and 3D printing) allowing the incorporation of unique features.
Features & Benefits
Manufactured only in titanium (Ti6Al4V Grade 23 ELI), eliminating the risk of allergy to CoCr (Ni).
3D-printed lattice pattern design for osseointegration and secondary stability.
The surface is micro-shot-peened, acid etched (SLA), ultrasound cleaned
Fossa Component
Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) enriched with vitamin E to prevent oxidative degradation and improve the mechanical properties of the material.
Mandibular Component
The condylar surface is highly polished and HadSat® coated. This reduces wear and corrosion of the titanium and UHMWPE material.*
Patient specific anatomical and functional parameters (Condylar path, Bennett shift/angle, and condylar axis angle) are implemented in each unique design.
3D -anchoring point can be added for the lateral pterygoid muscle tendon reinsertion.

Case report: Bilateral TMJ total joint replacement
A 25-year-old woman presented with a convex facial profile and impaired mastication due to an open bite malocclusion. She had experienced intractable joint pain for more than one year and also reported mental distress. Her maximum mouth opening was limited to 19 mm.
